Gene Simmons of eighties “hair rock” band KISS claims to have slept with 4897 women. This has no relevance to betting at all.
In other news KISS is an often used acronym meaning Keep It Simple Stupid. I’m guilty sometimes of over complicating matters (last year I was taking Pete Nordsteds drawmaster selections and backing them in ever increasingly complicated doubles and trebles and trying to lay them as well!!) and its something we probably all do from time to time in that quest to find an edge. Sometimes the best ideas are the most obvious. The following may be an urban myth but my ex boss told me it:
A guy in the 1960′s tells Proctor and Gamble that he knows how to double sales of their famous Head and Shoulders shampoo overnight. He makes them sign agreements to pay him if it works and then tells them his cunning idea.
Print the phrase ” rinse and repeat” on the side of your bottles! (Benjamin Cheever’s novel The Plagiarist tells the story).
Oh how we wish that Betfair would do the basic things well and keep it simple (Don’t worry though- they are planning to add Bingo to the site- are they Stupid?) as today we had another complete site failure after an upgrade in the week- People will be understandably very nervous about getting involved tomorrow. No point complaining though as the opportunity was there for people to move over to the purple side on Tuesday night for the tennis but it just didn’t happen despite the best efforts of various bloggers including the always readable Centre Court trading . For what its worth I just don’t think that Betdaq want the business otherwise they would have been mailing all users to tell then to join in the fun.
Elsewhere in the blogosphere here is an excellent post from Thoughts of a Football trader on risk taking.
Good luck if you do do dive in over the weekend- some cracking offers on the Australian open tennis if you do which are listed here.
