Winning together losing on your own….

… is an often repeated manta in the betting industry and one that Ive mentioned a few times in the blog., after all no one ever walked into work and said ” put one hundred pounds on a horse on Saturday and it fell at the first”. Betfair Pro trader is a recent addition to my blog roll and this post sums it up quite nicely. http://www.betfairprotrader.co.uk/2016/06/if-you-must-publish-profit-loss-blog.html . I’d like to think that I’m quite open about how my  escapades into the different markets are faring and recently I’ve noticed that I’ve had a number of questions on the different sports I get involved in. Rather than do one long incredibly boring […]

A lot sappened

That’s (and another!) one straight away for the spelling police to get stuck into. Realised this morning that it was weeks since I had been able to motivate myself to get something onto the blog. I mean its not like there has been a lot going on in the world of sport and betting is it? First off there was Cheltenham and the furore caused by TGP offering silly deals to entice people and then completely shitting themselves when they realised that all the favourites had won and they owed a lot of money. Luckily common sense prevailed and they did a huge u turn and paid out but, you have […]

Being more transparent….

AP’er commented on my last post that “It would be more interesting if you updated your blog at regular intervals rather than simply when you have a good week. Shame could be decent if you were more transparent”..The definition of which is “open, frank, candid”. Im not entirely sure what constitutes “regular intervals’ and having just become a father to not one but two, time consuming, puking, crying and  crapping little beauties its a little difficult to get the time to post on here whether the news is good or bad. However the comment did make me realise that some of my record keeping was a bit flaky (of the home made […]

No LoveMark!

Jason Lovemark stopped the winning run of the Racing Posts Steve Palmer at the weekend when his 1.5ew 80/1 pick managed to get himself into the lead on Sunday night before making a few double bogeys and bottling it. Despite that setback it was another great weekend of golf betting with Jeremy Chapman coming to the party in the form of Jason Duffner  winning at 40/1. Duffner battled it out with David Lingmerth who was a 70/1 selection from Nics picks so it made for very comfortable and enjoyable viewing and meant that Lovemark was soon forgotten about. Bryan who runs NicsPicks is constantly altering his staking pattern and ideas […]

Lucky (Chap)Man

An absolute belter of a tune that still sounds as good today as it did on release in 1998 (a good year for discovering new stuff I seem to recall). Nothing to do with betting apart from the fact its a reverential nod towards a certain Mr Jeremy Chapman who rather inexplicably didn’t manage to get a mention in my last post . 118 points profit in a month is some going and that’s exactly what he has managed to do in a spectacular month. That’s not luck its skill. 38 picks giving 4 winners ( two at 33/1) and 7 places is top top work coming from a service that is […]

Karlsberg dont do arbs….

…..But if they did then then one on Rikard last week at the Italian Open would surely be one of them. He was availible for a short while at 50 to back with lay money at 20 available . I can only think that the exciting finish to the event (with at one time it was looking like an 8 man play off) meant that it somehow got missed by trading teams . Made for an enjoyable afternoons golf. 🙂 Not quite as exciting over in the states with Jeremy Chapman’s pick making it “another Day another dollar” with relative ease however it was a small stakes bet . Little […]

Chap Still the Man

Long time between posts again and most blogs normally wither and die as they start off in blaze of positivity and then the postings dry up when the profits stop coming in. I’m glad to say that this isn’t the case here (Honest!) but its just that being a (pretty much) full time stay at home Dad whilst juggling part time work, and making money from Betfair etc means that something has to give and unfortunately for my tens of avid readers its normally this blog. Its actually been a cracking few months for the different services I get involved in and a strong 2015 generally. Racing wise Hugh Taylor […]

Mastered

A disappointing Masters from a viewing and betting standpoint as Jordan Speith produced a real master class in short game skills to comfortably hold off the challenge of Justin Rose. One particular moment of brilliance that I thought summed it up was on the 18th on Saturday when he found himself out of position at the back of the green. It looked like it would be a bogey at best yet somehow he got “up and down” holing a wicked 8ft putt. I was in an excellent trading position on Rose with a lovely 4 figure green on him yet he never quite got close enough to lock in any profit and […]

Account Closer

Another lengthy interlude between posts and just not really had the time,or to be honest the enthusiasm to share my thoughts with my thousands of readers. Well perhaps that figure is slightly exaggerated. In my last post I made mention of the fact that I would be following Hugh Taylor again now that I had a bit more time to try and get on at the advised prices (he made a decent 1.8 profit in February although he did also have a 6/1 winner that by time I got to a pc on that day was something like 3/1 so I avoided it). This month has been ticking along nicely […]

Back Home!

Finally moved back into my house at the weekend after 5 months living with the in-laws while my house was effectively rebuilt. Whilst it was great to be able to move away from the dust and dirt it certainly feels good to be back home and as one of my friends rather wonderfully expressed it “every man needs to be able to sit in his pants on his own sofa and scratch his bollocks without his mother in law walking in” . Nice ! On a a more serious note its great to be able to get a proper office set up again which (IMO) is an absolute must if […]
