Bill Haasn’t/Stewart Sunk

I quite like that title and am now waiting by the phone  the Sun sports editor to offer me a job (I realise that I know far too much about sport to get the gig).

A superb weekend for the golf tips picked by the Racing posts Steve Palmer although not for obvious reasons. Bill Haas was advised at 80/1 and after leading after the the first round he was into 6’s on Betfair which allowed me quite a considerable lay. He was always in contention and if he hadn’t had put his ball in the water at 18 would probably have made the play off . Stewart Cink had a shocker on Sunday (74) and still only just missed out on a place after a double bogey at the last . So not brilliant but by using these picks as my base from which to build trades I managed to secure a £177 profit. This was needed as the Spanish picks were a bit of a disaster and I lost £176 ! So what was so good about this  then? Well my “glass half full” logic says that if I can come out of the weekend level and  not had anyone in contention in one of the weekends tournaments  (one of the picks missed the cut by 9 shots!) then the better weekends will be quite bountiful. Famous last words!

Football wise stayed out of the markets and was only tempted by the frankly ridiculous 2.40 on offer for Man United at home to Chelsea. Can’t let this post go without a mention to Green Eyed traders post about laying favourites – I hope you put you money where your mouth was with 8 out of 11 favs getting turned over!

A great week of sport awaits – not only have we got the play offs, the players championship and the FA cup to look forward to but also the big one! Yep my stag do with 28 middle aged men playing golf badly and then betting even worse  at Uttoxeter racecourse on Saturday evening.
