After Roberto Mancini went back on his word never to play Tevez again and the City fans booed him for about a minute before he set up a goal, at which point they seemed to forget  what a prick he had been I can’t help but smile at the news  that theirmain man Sergio Aguero has injured his foot in a mystery injury- the Daily Mail reports ‘It is a stupid injury,’ said Mancini. ‘It was not his fault but he can’t play with this injury; for one day, 10 days or two weeks. I don’t know.’ Mancini has refused to say exactly what happened but repeatedly used the word […]

75k worth of pants

Pants. The ones pictures aren’t mine as they are hanging on my office wall at home but perhaps I should  get them down and start wearing them more often as this week has certainly been one of those weeks. In fact its been, well, pants really. The market examiner is on a bit of a losing run at the moment (21) which has been peppered with near misses- their luck at the moment is best summed up by the selection yesterday (Drummers Drumming) going to 1.07 in running. I had laid it low to lock in some profit but when it goes off at 12/1 its hard to bear. Its […]

Win together……

………Lose on your own Its quite a well known saying in the gaming industry. Think about it for a second. When was the last time you ever were sat at work on the Monday after the Grand National and someone proudly announced to everyone  “guess what – I bet £50 and it fell at the first”. It just doesn’t happen. The reason I bring it up is that there is currently a bit of  “debate”  going on about the merits of  P and L blogs- I’m not going to reinvent the wheel here- there are a couple of excellent posts on the very subject at a Football traders path and […]

Well Cheltenham is over for another year and on a personal note it was excellent with lots of  great offers from bookmakers meaning that I beat my previous years  performance . Looking back over my records one of the main reasons was the excellent offer from William Hill to give refunds if your horse finished second. They also had plenty of enhanced prices (at one point they were top price on both Kauto Star and Long Run) so fair play to them as they stuck their neck out and got their just rewards. Also got to give a special mention to Ladbrokes  who had an amazing offer on the big […]

Market examined

So we are half way through Cheltenham and I hope its going well for you- More of that later however for  today’s post I’m delighted to have an interview with the excellent Market Examiner service. Their  record is right up there with the very best  with last year (2011) bringing a nice return of 161 points despite a tricky spell in August .. If anyone isn’t familiar with the service the selections are normally posted up quite close to 11am which is excellent as I’ve been a member of other services that keep you hanging on all morning before announcing that there is no selection. They have also recently added […]

Its Cheltmas!!!!

So the waiting is over and this year it has certainly been the worth it. The inbox at blogger towers has been over flowing with offers from the bookies as they all fight desperately to grab our custom. For me the stand out  is the  Paddy Power Arkle offer that sees them taking on  Sprinter Sacre. This is the fourth year that they have opened the festival with this offer having “dodged a bullet” previously with  Cousin Vinny (2009), Dunguib (2010) and Cue card (2011). Its rumored that that they stand to lose 2 million  pounds on Sprinter Sacre and 4 Million on Al ferof  (2nd favourite). Don’t feel too […]

Manager madness

After my last post asking for guest pieces I’ve received the below post at Fulltimebettingblog towers from a guest contributor called “Selhurst Smudge”. Money to be made on manager madness ?? In these days when football managers seem to change more often than Essex girls underwear, is there money to be made on selection of new managers?. Having looked at the range of odds offered on ‘next manager specials’ the variance is huge for those bookies bold enough to enter the fray. The recent Chelsea manager fiasco could either present a tidy windfall or a waste of your hard earned cash – but either way there has never been a […]

Half a million

I noticed earlier that my page views counter had today crept up to over 500,00 which for a half arsed attempt at bloggery isn’t that shabby. I  wont get too carried away as judging by the amount of spam comments left trying to sell me all manner of crap  a fair few of those are clearly just bots, however perhaps someone apart from my dear old Mum is reading this.. These nice words from  sprzatanie Bydgoszcz are pretty typical of the shit left here every day Hey! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after checking through some of the post I realized it’s new to […]

Quite rosey

Back into the swing of things after returning from my holiday and the end of my first week back in weekend was somewhat spoilt by Justin Rose suffered a “valve problem”  in the Honda Classic on Sunday night as he  managed to put his ball in the water at the 15th (I think i heard the words” the bear trap” about a thousand time on Sky sports- its just three holes guys!!!) just as he got to withing two shots of Rory at the weekends Honda Golf Classic.  It was a shame as he looking good as one of Steve Palmers golf picks (40/1) but it just wasnt to be […]
